Part one traces the geological history of central Australia through the passage of one of the world’s oldest rivers, The Finke. It flows through all the ecosystems of Australia, from the rugged almost impenetrable flanks of the MacDonnell Ranges to the Simpson Desert.
Part 2 explores the diverse ecosystems and all that live therein, contesting the erroneous ‘dead heart’ myth, to reveal a rich array of animal and plant communities.
